Yamato Premium Glue for Washi Paper
Yamato Premium Glue for Washi Paper is a traditional Japanese adhesive, the only one of it's kind made specifically for use with washi papers. Unlike Yamato's popular rice paste this glue is made of tapioca, offering gentle and reliable adhesion for working with delicate hand-made papers.
This glue offers a smoother consistency than rice starch glues meaning it allows for more even and wrinkle-free use in order to retain the integrity of delicate washi papers throughout the application process. It is water-soluble allowing it to be reversed in water, a particularly useful trait for printmaking, archival work, careful repositioning as required and restoration.
The tapioca base dries slower than Japanese rice paste glues allowing for more time to make amends before requiring re-wetting. Suitable for chine collé, collage, bookbinding, conservation and other craft applications.
Available in a 100g tub. Lid should be properly tightened after use to prevent drying out.
