Pure Gum Arabic Liquid (Varnish)

M.E.S Gum Arabic is a buffered pure gum solution suitable for a range of applications:

  • In lithography it is used for gentle first gumming of delicate work and blocking out areas on a plate before setting your drawing.
  • It is also widely used for preparing plates to take water soluble materials for watercolour monotypes in which it is applied and buffed back on the surface of the plate.
  • A common component of modern spit bite 
  • Can be used for watercolour paint making and as a modifier*

*Our Pure Gum Arabic Liquid may be less refined than those usually used for paintmaking and could impact some colours, we recommend testing in small quantities before using for this purpose.
