Mild abrasive, use with oil using the flat, or end for small areas like scratches. Note: For stone lithography, use with gum etch.

These are also known as honing stones, and snakeslip stones.

These stones can be used to remove and fix images on a lithographic stone. This type of removal will create a variety of marks and can remove parts of the image, or lighten areas, be scratching through the dark and leaving some behind.
