Pure Gum Arabic Liquid (Varnish)
Our M.E.S. Gum Arabic is a buffered, pure gum solution developed for lithography.
It's a core part of the lithographic process, used for gentle first gumming of delicate work, blocking out areas on a plate before setting your drawing, etching the image, and locking it in to protect it between working sessions and through printing.
It also works well for preparing plates to accept water-soluble materials, such as in watercolour monotype, where it's applied and buffed back on the surface of the plate.
*Our Pure Gum Arabic Liquid may be less refined than gums typically used in paint making, which could affect the performance of some colours. We recommend testing in small quantities before using it for this purpose.
