E.C. Lyons Flat Gravers (Scorpers)
E C Lyons Flat Gravers (also referred to as Scorpers) are designed for engraving on end grain hardwood, copper, zinc, other metals and thick engraving plastics.
Gravers come in two types with a round end or square end (Flat). These tools with their flat sides and flat cutting edges produce even lines. This type of tool is used to efficiently clear away large areas of plate, and also works well for bright-cutting and lettering. Larger sizes are best for clearing and the Flat Graver in particular are perfect for paring away ridges creating from initial clearing.
The E C Lyons Flat Gravers tools have a flat profile made from high grade carbon steel that is factory sharpened, but requires extra honing before use.
