E.C. Lyons Wooden Handle Burnishers
E C Lyons burnishers are made from polished high grade carbon tool steel mounted in a 10cm wooden handle. Burnishers are used to polish areas on copper or zinc intaglio plates, bringing tone to an image and smoothing out filed edges. These burnishers are also used in jewellery making to set stones and polish metals.
The E C Lyons range of burnishers feature 3 styles: curved, straight and ball.
Both the Curved and Straight burnishers are good for general use when flattening burrs or polishing areas of the plate. Available in a range of widths and lengths to suit each printmakers preference and purpose.
Ball burnishers allow for precision burnishing perfect for fine details where greater accuracy is required.
Burnishers may be cleaned and polished with emery cloth or paper as needed.
