• Raphael Hog Fan Brush 3695 - Melbourne Etching Supplies

Raphael 3695 d'Artigny Hog Fan

d’Artigny brushes are used and recognised internationally as their natural “fine white” hog bristles are strictly selected for their origin and undergo rigorous preparation. These natural multiple-flag fibres help the paint penetrate more successfully into the mesh of linen or canvas. They are rigid with a lot of spring (more than the Paris Classic) therefore ideal for thick paint and impasto work. They keep their natural shape very well and are extremely durable. Excellent paint-holding capacity, with a very lively and precise touch.

Brush Head: Fan

Fibre: Hog Bristles

Use: For blending, fading and glazing.

Raphael Brushes

Founded in Paris in 1793 and owned and operated by the Sauer family since 1859.

Founded in Paris in 1793 and owned and operated by the Sauer family since 1859, Raphaël is the oldest fine art brush maker in Europe. Following the time honored tradition of master and apprentice, the highly skilled craftswomen of Raphaël must train for years before they are ready to produce a Raphaël brush.

The finest hairs and bristles are imported from all over the world and hand sorted to ensure the highest quality. Every brush made by Raphaël is made with the artist in mind.
