No darkroom needed, just this kit and some sunbeams!

With this kit, you can experiment with an analog photographic technique that works with the sun: lumen printing. You are essentially going to do everything that is normally forbidden with light-sensitive darkroom paper for surprising and vibrant effects.

The lumen process involves a reaction taking place between the light-sensitive paper and the sun: where the sun falls on the paper, it takes on a pink/purple and beige/grey tint—truly luminous! Unexposed areas remain white. This allows you to create beautiful rosy purple images.

You can place all kinds of objects on the treated paper, such as natural materials. Just put it in the sun for a moment and you will see it change color! With this kit, you can mix and apply the photographic materials yourself—enough for the postcards in the kit and a little extra to experiment further on your own.

Contents DIY Lumen kit – Postcard Kit
– Step-by-step instructions and tips
– 12 light-sensitive papers 10 x 15 cm
– 12 postcard backs 10 x 15 cm
– sachet of fixative to mix with water
– label for your own mixed bottle of fixative
– gloves
– 2 rinsing bowls
– funnel
